1. 날씨 * 날씨를 나타내는 형용사 sunny (햇빛이 밝은), rainy (비가 오는), cloudy (구름이 많은)

오늘은 날씨가 좋았다. It was sunny today. 오늘은 구름이 꼈다. It was cloudy today. 오늘은 구름이 조금/많이 꼈다. It was a little/very cloudy today.

비가 올 것 같다. It looks like rain. It looks like it’s going to rain. * ~처럼 보이다 look like + 명사 * 그녀가 울 것처럼 보인다. She looks like she’s going to cry.

일기예보에 따르면 소나기가 올 것이라고 했다. The weather forecast called for scattered showers. * the weather forecast 일기예보 * called for + 명사 ~을 부른다, ~을 요구한다 * shower 소나기 * scattered 산발적으로 일기예보에 따르면 폭설이 내릴 것이라고 했다. The weather forecast called for heavy snow. heavy rain(s) 폭우

가랑비가 왔다. It’s drizzled.

비가 약해졌다. The rain let up. * let up (비가) 가라앉다, 약해지다 비가 쉴새 없이 계속 퍼부었다. The rain did not let up for hours.
